“I have been collaborating with Rising Digital for over 6 years now and they are by far the most reliable team I’ve had the pleasure of working with in any space. The communication is fast, friendly and efficient with an emphasis on genuinely understanding each brand and its goals. They are always willing to jump on the phone and discuss every aspect of the digital world to help craft a smart, forward thinking... and more to the point... fun campaign. It’s always a team effort, which is what we’re all about. Combine that with a real eye for detail and the appetite for a challenge and you have an incredible company.”

We’ve worked with mau5trap and deadmau5 for more than six years now, but this story goes down as one of our favourites for sure! On March 23rd, 2012, mau5trap hosted its first mau5hax. Our take on a “hack day”, but no apps would be made in this time… just beats! What turned out to be nearly a 12hr production session was streamed through live.deadmau5.com.

The day, hosted by Honor Roll Music studios and in partnership with Beatport, saw visits and support from Feed Me, Moguai, Kill The Noise and a last minute vocal performance from Foreign Beggars – who’s lyrical inspiration came from a Facebook and Twitter post. Great times!

We had five competition winners in the building. Steve Duda managed one room, Beatport’s Albert Gonzalez and mau5trap’s new signing The Frederick the other, and deadmau5 bounced between the two hot seats all day and night.

The result…? Two tracks: ‘Fractals’ and ‘Titty Sprinkles’ which could both be downloaded in full resolution from Beatport the following morning. 24hrs later we were smashing the hype machine charts.

On Facebook, deadmau5 posted: “well mau5hax was a success. met some rad kids, and they got 2 tracks done in a day! Pretty cool to sit back and watch em go, get in there with a few pointers and stuff, and just chat bout production and random stuff.. defo something i can look into doing more of! again, congrats to the winners and thanks for the good time!”

As we said, we know it was five years ago, but coupled with some fantastic mau5trap parties around Miami’s South Beach, it made a week we’ll never forget.
